Roads we work

Howth proper, the village around the harbour, the Cliff Path houses up on the Head, and the bigger detached homes along Strand Road and Burrow Road in Sutton.

  • Howth village (D13) — Abbey Street, Main Street, smaller dinners and the occasional pub-back-room booking we do every so often
  • Cliff Path / Thormanby Road — large headland houses, summer garden weddings
  • Carrickbrack Road / Ceanchor Road — south-facing properties looking back over Dublin Bay
  • Sutton Cross / Strand Road / Burrow Road — semi-detached and detached family homes, weekend dinners and family events
  • Baily / Bailey Avenue — Edwardian terraces, smaller table-of-twelve dinners

Fish from the harbour boats

Howth is the right side of Dublin to centre a menu around fish. The boats land most days at the East Pier, and our fish supplier (Hooked) collects from there before the morning runs to restaurants. For Howth dinners and weddings we'll often build a course around what's been on the boats that week — line-caught hake, plaice, the occasional brill. Worth flagging when the venue is on the headland; the food story writes itself.

Headland garden weddings

Howth Head garden weddings are the most weather-sensitive bookings we do. The wind off the bay can pick up sharply in the late afternoon, and a marquee on Carrickbrack can need extra anchoring. We work with two of the regular Howth marquee firms; Aoife handles the wind-plan conversation at the site recce. Power supply on the older Thormanby Road houses sometimes needs a generator (we'll know on the recce).

  • Typical head count: 60–130
  • Travel surcharge: €1.20pp (the only place inside Dublin we charge one beyond Dún Laoghaire)
  • Site recce: 2–3 weeks ahead; power, wind exposure, marquee position, prep-table access
  • Service style: family-style mains works best in a marquee; plated starters and dessert
  • Pack-down: we leave by 23.30 to clear the Cliff Path before late-night residents are settled

If your venue is on Howth Head, ask us about a fish-led menu. The story sells itself when the kitchen is forty minutes from the pier.
